Meet the Staff…

Dr. Maryellen Lee is a 1997 graduate of the University of California at Davis, School of Veterinary Medicine. She practiced small animal medicine for several years in San Francisco before relocating back to her home on the South Shore of Massachusetts. She is certified in Veterinary acupuncture in the United States by the Chi Institute of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine, and in China by the Chinese National Society of Veterinary Acupuncture. She has also taken extensive post graduate coursework in Chinese and Western herbal medicine. She currently takes an integrative approach to medicine, incorporating elements of both modern western and alternative medicine to achieve maximum patient care.

Shannon has been living the dream as veterinary technician for 12 years. She left the human medical field after 10 years and has never looked back. Shannon specializes in anesthesia and surgical monitoring and loves to continue to learn and grow in the field. Her other interests include phlebotomy, emergency medicine and palliative care. She lives on the south shore with her husband, son, 3 cats and of course the princess herself Fergie the French bulldog! Shannon loves to watch her son dance on her days off and take a class or two herself!

Erica, our newest Veterinary Technician, comes to us with multiple years of experience working in the veterinary field with concentrations in both urgent care and client service. Her favorite parts of the job are working with clients, and working in surgery and surgical recovery. She lives with three cats and a dog and enjoys hiking, going to the beach, traveling and spending time with family and friends.

A passion for animals brought Linnea to Morningstar nearly a year ago. Whether it was loving her family dogs, working on her high school hobby farm hatching baby chicks, caring for a miniature horse and goats at a local therapeutic farm, or commanding the pack at a busy doggie day care; Linnea has always surrounded herself with animals and has a deep appreciation for the love owners have for their fur babies. Linnea is looking forward to continuing her education in Veterinary care while working alongside Dr. Lee and the Morningstar team.

Rachel earned her BS in Veterinary Technology from Umass Amherst and has passed the national exam to become a Certified Veterinary Technician. She began in the field years ago as a kennel assistant and worked her way up to technician assistant before becoming a certified veterinary technician. She loves continuing to learn and grow in the field and especially enjoys providing nursing care to the patients, phlebotomy, and surgical recovery. She lives with two cats and a dog and in her free time she likes to hike, read, spend time with friends, and ride horses.

Sara came to Morningstar to broaden her experience in animal care. She has a BS in Animal Health and Behavior from Unity College, and immediately out of college worked at a doggie daycare supervising play groups. From there she became a dog trainer, and she discovered she loves helping people and their dogs better communicate with each other. Working in the field of veterinary medicine is another opportunity do this and more, and she can't wait to keep learning every day! Whether she is at the front desk or in the exam rooms, she is excited to help all of you and your pets!

Gabe(right), Maya (bottom), and Corinne (left) are our cycling college interns. Gabe is studying to be a physical therapist at Springfield College and loves to play soccer in his free time. Maya is studying biomedical engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology and enjoys figure skating to get out of the Georgia heat! Corinne is studying mechanical engineering at Harvard University and is a member of their sailing team. Their collective favorite archaeological site is America's Stonehenge, where this picture was taken!
