Meet the Staff…

Morningstar Animal Hospital is owned and operated by Dr Maryellen Lee. She is supported by her technicians Shannon and Chantele, and receptionist Jenna, who all share Dr Lee's passion for the very best patient care and overall physical and mental health of our patients.

Dr. Maryellen Lee is a 1997 graduate of the University of California at Davis, School of Veterinary Medicine. She practiced small animal medicine for several years in San Francisco, before relocating back to her home on the South Shore of Boston. She is certified in Veterinary acupuncture in the United States by the Chi Institute of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine, and in China by the Chinese National Society of Veterinary Acupuncture. She has also taken extensive post graduate coursework in Chinese and Western herbal medicine. She currently takes an integrative approach to medicine, incorporating elements of both modern western, and alternative medicine to achieve maximum patient care.

Shannon has been living the dream as veterinary technician for 8 years. She left the human medical field after 10 years and has never looked back. Shannon specializes in anesthesia and surgical monitoring and loves to continue to learn and grow in the field. Her other interests include phlebotomy, emergency medicine and palliative care.  She lives on the south shore with her husband, son, 3 cats and of course the princess herself Fergie the French bulldog! Shannon loves to watch her son dance on her days off and take a class or two herself!

Chantele has worked in the animal field for over 10yrs. She has been a technician for over 3 yrs and graduated from Mt Ida college in 2013 with a degree in Animal Science. She is skilled in areas of surgery, dentistry, phlebotomy, behavior, and patient care. Her interests include dog training, supportive care, and client education. She loves to spend time with her two cats Monkey and Babe. Her hobbies include baking, pet sitting, and drawing!

 Sam is the friendly face at our reception desk and enjoys meeting all the patients and clients alike. She comes to us with a background in the human medical field and is loving the switch to veterinary medicine! She happily shares her home with a chihuahua named Bella and a kitty named Casey.

 Victoria is a veterinary assistant. She graduated from Bridgewater State University with a degree in biology in 2017. She is just now beginning her career in animal medicine, but has always been a huge animal lover! She shares her home with four cats and two dogs. During her free time she loves hiking, kayaking and going to the beach.

Cutie is our IT Specialist.     

Taylor is our Hospitality Coordinator.
